Multi-Currency: EUR / USD Collection Guide from Foreign Customers

Multi-currency guide for accepting EUR, USD, and GBP collections from foreign tourists. Exchange difference, swap costs, and bank recommendations.

Foreign tourists want to see prices in their native language and pay in their own currency. Being stuck with only TL is a conversion loss.

Three Methods

  1. TL POS + DCC: The customer selects EUR during card payment, and the bank converts it. Easy, but high commission.
  2. Currency: Display options are TL, EUR, USD, and GBP. Collection currency and rules depend on your provider account.
  3. Stripe + EUR account: International standard. Powerful but requires pulling back to TL for Turkish expenses.

Exchange Rate Management

The EUR price displayed on your website must be fixed, not the instantaneous rate. Let the system price with a daily base rate + safety margin (2-3%).

Swap Cost

The bank's cost for converting EUR collection → TL is 0.5-1%. There is room for negotiation at high volumes.
